Jeane Carmichael

Hello! I am Jeane Carmichael and I am the author of The Stand Out Project. I am passionate about my family and being a servant of God. My desire is to see every person having a deep relationship with God, and living an exciting selfless life that will inspire others to do the same. That's why we have started a mentoring program for high school girls to embolden them to godly living while providing them with skills and opportunities to make a difference in their generation. You might "see" an accent in my writing and that is because I am originally from Brazil. What does that mean? You may get some cultural information once in a while that will broaden how you perceive the world. Nothing to lose here! I hope you enjoy your reading and leave me a comment if you desire so.

Because this will be a wonderful event, we have also reserved the BCM parking for our SOP moms  and will be in charge of who can park there. We don’t want your daughter to miss this event. What Is Christmas All About?

What Is Christmas All About?

Photo Credit: Hannah Jingle bells, carols, lights, toys, candles and sparking colors invite the children for the most anticipated time of the year: Christmas is here; but what is Christmas all about? Grown ups who have lived long enough know better than to say it is all about gifts. Children will still stick with their needs and wants list and loudly question, “What do I get? Which one is mine?” L ...[Read More]

Gratitude Is a Choice

Gratitude Is a Choice

Living a life filled with gratitude can be a challenge for many people. I know it was for me until I learned that gratitude is a choice. You make the choice of not forgetting all of God’s benefits. You choose to recognize that your deeds could have taken the route to devastation but because of God’s mercy they did not. You choose to purposefully investigate every happening in your life to discover ...[Read More]

When Homeschooling Becomes a Shut Door

When Homeschooling Becomes a Shut Door

Hold back your stones, homeschooling advocates! Let’s be honest here: homeschooling can become too much for parents to handle in certain seasons of life. When that happens, it’s a door that may need to be shut, even if temporarily. So how do you know when it is time to shut the door?  This is my story   I have homeschooled my three children for the last seven years or so. It has been one of t ...[Read More]

Rock, Paper… WHAT? Oh, That American Culture!

Rock, Paper… WHAT? Oh, That American Culture!

Have you ever played rock, paper, scissors? If you were born in America, you know what I am talking about. If you spent your childhood in another country like me, you may have watched the children play it and then concluded, “ Nah, I’ve learned enough games already. But I hope they have fun, and leave me out of it.”   Who needs to be teachable Who said that we should be teachable, no matter h ...[Read More]

Building a Burn Pile – A Lesson To Be Learned

Building a Burn Pile – A Lesson To Be Learned

Another storm has come. Branches lay all over the yard and the work is still to be done. It’s time to build a burn pile. I did not do much of that growing up in Brazil, if any; I really can’t recall. Mostly because we lived in houses with a much smaller yard than now or in condos where concrete seemed to be everywhere. Life was rushed between the urgency of accomplishments and fulfillment and ther ...[Read More]

Captured by Amazing Lenses

Captured by Amazing Lenses

It all starts with a trip to the zoo carrying in your hand a camera and your new amazing lenses. Now you are ready to capture moments that will forever remind you of the beauty you had a chance to lay your eyes on. And God sees that. Why Parenting Is Not a Joke

Why Parenting Is Not a Joke

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” 3 John 1:4   Parenting can be fun and it is certainly not a joke. It requires serious teamwork from both parents. It starts with lovely dreams mixed with fears filling the hearts of most parents-to-be at the announcement of one of the most challenging events in a person’s life: “We are pregnant!” What ...[Read More]
